2. Disasters Emergency CommitteeThe DEC is an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian aid organisations. At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.
Many DEC member agencies are already in Haiti helping with the aftermath of the earthquake.

3. The long-term planAlthough it is important to help with the aide effort now for the immediate effects of the crisis, we cannot forget that it is also vitally important to consider the long-term effects that this earthquake will cause to the land and people of Haiti.
It is our hope that the final third of the money we raise through Help Haiti CI will be put towards a long-term project for rebuilding in the future, once all the initial aide has left Haiti.
This project has yet to be chosen, but, full details of the decision-making-process and any choices that are made will be fully publicised through this website and our Facebook page.
